Weston Blue Mink

  WELCOME TO MORWYN PONIES ................

The first Welsh mountain pony bought was TAN LAN GWENLLIAN in 1962. She was in foal to COED COCH SERCHOL. She produced the lovely well known stallion MORWYN POLO. He was a big prizewinner in the ring and was later sold to the Tan Lan Stud in Anglesey.

In 1966 we bought a beautiful mare from the late Mr.Jack Edwards: WESTON BLUE MINK (Cusop Rambler/Weston Fair Charm). All that are in the stud are related to Mink (except ROTHERWOOD CARNIVAL). She was an exceptional mare and bred us some lovely ponies both Section A and Section B. She was a champion mare i
n the show ring winning many medals for us. We have one daughter still in the stud ANNAMINK by LLANDYN SENSATION (dam of, among others, BRONZE HEIR). Mink's daughters include ORVIETO, RHAPSODY and NICANTRA, all by Gredington Simwnt. The ORVIETO and RHAPSODY line is still the main breeding line here. NICANDRA was sold to Colin Tibbey and is the dam of Lacy Justyn.

In 1972 we purchased as a foal from Liz Mansfield ROTHERWOOD CARNIVAL (Keston Royal Occasion/Rotherwood Red Rose). He has produced us some lovely ponies. We have many of his daughters here together with his son BRONZE ENSIGN. ENSIGN is full brother to BRONZE FESTIVAL, BRONZE KADETT and BRONZE ROYALE, all champion ridden ponies.
